Will OBD2A wiring harness work in an OBD2B car?
Hi Honda-Tech, hopefully someone here can help me.
I have a 1999 civic with a JDM Type-R. The car is running on an OBD1 ecu with no jumper harness. My engine harness and dash harness is all hacked up so I am going to replace it with the proper wiring. I bought the correct dash harness (obd2b) but the engine harness I got is OBD2A. So my question is, will the obd2a engine harness work with the obd2b dash harness? If not, what do I have to modify to make it work?? I hope that I can make it work because I also bought a jdm type-r ecu which is obd2a, that way I wouldnt have to get a jumper harness.

it's a major, MAJOR pain in the *** to mod an obd2a engine harness to match an obd2b chassis harness. it shouldn't be that hard to find an obd2b engine harness, the only thing I don't think will match up is the dizzy plugs which you can just re-pin, splice, or get a jumper for.
