Default 96 Gsr possible k20 swap

i have a 96 gsr with 135xxx i have always wanted a k20 swap and recently found a k20a2 swap with kpro. the guy said he pulled it out of his eg 7 years ago and it has been sitting ever since he doenst know the exact mileage but know it came from an 02 type s so it has to be somewhat low miles and he is asking 2500 plus 700 for k pro. i was just wandering to hear some opinions on it and and how much the full swap would cost me??...

tack on another ~5000 for everything else you'll need for a complete swap

Now wait if it came out of an EG and its going into a GSR then you shouldnt need anything he doesnt have, unless it isnt full swap anymore..and I looked very closely into a K swap in my 97 LS, not including the engine or Kpro it can be done (if you do it yourself!) for about 2k in parts..and that was buying all new parts from Hasport, hybrid racing, etc


That being said sitting isnt good for engines so you may want to grab a ratchet and see how it turns by hand, see if it grinds or clunks or anything..and Id want to know why he let it sit for 7 years..5 years ago that k20a2 was worth quite a bit more than it is now..

So for 2500 what do you get? Engine, 6spd trans, shift cables, shift box, eg/dc mounts, header, ac comp, alternator, ps pump, harness, charge harness, etc?

k swap is expensive. just because it came out of a eg doesnt really mean anything. u still need to customize your dc to have the swap done. mount locations and what not.

I agree you have to change stuff on the DC but some people do their own work rather than have a shop do it, shops are a lot more expensive than parts...typically
