2002 honda accord LX not starting, green key light flashing
Hello,
I(my dad) has a 2002 honda accord LX 4 cyclinder with a 2.3 ltr v-tec engine.
We got it from my great uncle and it has sat a long time. The battery was dead in it. So we charged it and attempted to start it. The car just turned over fast but wouldn't start. We replaced the fuel pump, fuel pump relay, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, etc etc. It gets spark and fuel...
I did notice however when you turn the key to the on position(#2) the green key light was solid for 2 seconds and then started flashing non-stop. I sat in the car for several minutes watching it to see if it would shut off and never did. Once i move the key back to the #1 position then it quits blinking. The radio on the other hand works...
I only have 1 key to it, and it's the color black. I'm thinking it might be an accessory key or perhaps it lost it's programming??? If it was the transponder ring, how can i diagnose that or the ecu?
any ideas? suggestions, etc?

Re: 2002 honda accord LX not starting, green key light flashing
oh, i forgot to mention. It has a smack in the front bumper cover that goes in about 2 inches in 1 spot. I looked behind the cover by prying it with a screwdriver to see if there was any wires. I thought maybe it triggered the immobolizer system into not starting????
