Default B18b1 normal compression??

Hey ht this is kinda dumb lol but I'm about to do a compression test on my b18b1 how many psi am I looking for 180+? Also, it smokes a little on start up and when I slightly take off, but anything after that it's good. Valve seals? And yeah how many psi am I looking for when doing compression test? Thanks

Just do the test. Report back what you get.

Found this on the net for your reference.

(nominal= good)
(minimum= anything below this and you need to start worrying)
(max var: maximum variation between cylinders. ie Cyl 1=190, cyl 2=150, you have a problem)

Gen 1
86-89 d16a1
nominal: 192 psi
minimum: 134 psi
max var: 28 psi

Gen 2
90-91 b18a
nominal 185 psi
minimum: 135 psi
max var: 28 psi

92-93 b18a1
nominal: 199 psi
minimum: 135 psi
max var: 28 psi

92-93 b17a
nominal: 199 psi
minimum: 135 psi
max var: 28 psi

gen 3
94-01 b18b1
nominal: 199 psi
minimum: 135 psi
max var: 28 psi

94-01 b18c1
nominal: 270 psi
minimum: 135 psi
max var: 28 psi

97-01 b18c5
nominal: 270 psi
minimum: 135 psi
max var: 28 psi

gen 4
02+ k20a3
nominal: (?)

The absolute number is highly dependent on the compression tester, engine temperature, etc. The consistency of the readings is not.

OP, adjust your valves and retest.

Engine was at operation temp. And do a valve lash adjustment? And see if it smokes still and see if compression is better?

and you're testing at WOT,yes?
what color is the smoke?
the lower compression in 2 adjacent cylinders is synonymous with a breached headgasket due to a warped/cracked head.
try running a wet compression test. see how the numbers differ from the dry

Blue smoke. And are you saying I might have a warped head?

test with pedal at wot. this keeps the pcm from fueling and washing the cylinders
