I have 2001 2wd and a 1998 4wd. When you shift into reverse, it just makes a grinding noise. They both drive perfectly fine in all the forward gears. Only reverse does not work.
Any ideas?

Bad transmission in both cases.

Actually no. Just bad reverse gears. Took them both apart and replaced the reverse gears and back together working
Who said rebuilding automatic transmissions was hard? lol
