Sitting on steelies, aftermarket fog lights, primered hood, no OEM lip, and it might be the flash, but that does NOT look like an SI interior.

$2000 tops, maybe $2500 if it actually has an EM1 VIN.

Unless someone did a complete rebuild on it at some point, you'll never find out how many miles are actually on that motor. Period.

$200 isnt a bad price for what you're describing. BUT.... You'd want a A2, type R or other real VTEC head casting for this to be a worthwhile swap. You'll also need a LOT of other parts. You should do this only if you 100% know what you're doing or it can get expensive fast.

You can buy a JDM equivalent to a A3.... complete low mileage running motor from jdmenginescorp.com for like $700-800 shipped.

But you'll still want a real VTEC head.

A USDM K24A2 (200-205hp) is your best bang for the buck. That's an incredible motor and people give them away. Ive seen them between $1100-1700. The 06-08 version is most notable. K24A2 . From a TSX. Mate that to a 08-11 Si trans. With bolt ons, cams, and tuning, this is a 280-300whp engine. With lots and lots of torque.

Or a USDM RSX S/8th gen Si motor (k20a2/Z1/Z3) makes 195-210hp and can be had around the same $$ as the K24A2.

You should probably also look into how much money, time, and expertise is involved in a K swap. Put aside about $8-12K to do it correctly.

The reason the guy is selling the motor is because he thought it'd be easy/viable to piece stuff together...and then he realized what he got himself into. Or....it's busted.

Yeah...B/D series is way more simple. The K series is way nicer when you're done. But...by the time you piece everything together, you'll most likely say "eff this" haha.

Yea true that and I can easily turbo a z6 with some internals and can and still have a little beast u kno and when it comes time to sell with a k series u won't even get back half of what u put all into it

$200 for the engine, $6-8k for the rest of the things needed (mounts, kpro, trans, harness). I would personally love to do a kswap, but just to have done one. If you want speed or a clean engine bay, build a b series and save yourself a lot of money and hassle. This is just my opinion of course, you can do as you wish. lol

my thoughts exactly, i asked him what he put into it, he said nothing its stock and he has lower control arm. I couldn't help but have a good laugh and ask if he would take less than 2k. Haven't heard back...

Looking for a value for my 1999 Civic 4-door SE in Silver, it unfortunately had a fire in the engine bay on Dec 2012, mostly along the radiator support and was put out in a hasty manner, but not quick enough. The wires and electronics are melted, but the motor and most components are intact. The car has been under a cover since it was parked in front of my house. There is about 230,000 kilometers on the chassis.

It has a B16B swap in it with a Integra GSR B18C1 transmission (Rebuilt in Sept 2011, has about 6000-8000 kilometers on it). Unfortunately, the Vtec solinoid was damaged by the fire too, as well as the spark plug wires and distributor, but the engine is still intact, I would recommend a rebuild kit (gaskets, maybe bearings too). The kilometers on the motor is unknown to me. It has a black valve cover because the previous motor owner cut up the red to show the cam gears... I did not like that. But this motor was a lot of fun for the short time that I had it.

It also has Innovative B-series Mounts (black anodized): http://www.innovativemounts.com/Prod...uctCode=B10050

Now, the chassis, most of the front end and the rear bumper are gone, and all of the car has been put back to stock, inside and out. No ECU though, my brother stole that from me.

What could this unfortunate Canadian get for this? I know the motor itself would be a great project for someone, I unfortunately, have no time to revive this beautiful motor. Thank you for your input.

On the fire damaged Civic, you would be better off parting it out. Pull the engine and transmission out, remove the sensors, and sell the motor/transmission as-is, on their own. As for the chassis, strip out all of the wiring, clean up under the hood to remove any signs of fire damage, and sell it as a bare shell. You could theoretically get $500-$800 USD for it, a few hundred for the transmission, and a few hundred for the shell.

As for that Del Sol...Five thousand dollars?? Someone needs to put the crack pipe down. It's a ******* Del Sol. It isn't a "classic". There's nothing special about it. Three grand, maybe $3500 tops.

I bought this car just over 10 years ago. did the bodywork in my dads driveway. previous side impact on passenger side, and pillar was shot. replace both inner and outer quarter panel skin,Though it went well. lower quarter panel- different story. cut a junked eg in half, and realized it had previous damage. but pillar support was good. so my intent was to install pillar support, and the just cut out bottom rear quarter panel and replace it. never got that far. But I had this engine machined, and built proper. it literally has 50mi on it. it sat because its not registered, and I was busy at work. yup. cherry motor. you woulld have to hear her run in person. Never on the bottle- because it has never properly been tuned. and stock cams for the same reason. and stock p28 at that. no joke. no bs. need a final touch. I have all interior. only jdm pieces missing are mirrors, and side blikers, because it came without fenders. it mostly all there. Should I try to register here in cali? southbay) or- what do you think its worth? this engine was built 10 years ago. its has been taken care of. but her body may look good from far- but believe me she is far from good
thanks for you time. and thanks for keeping this sport alive. seriosly good stuff you guys are doing these days.

Registering that in CA? Yeah...right. The motor is older than the chassis for starters, none of those parts are CARB certified, there's no way in hell that thing passes BAR. That's not even addressing the fact that it's RHD. Part that sucker out and hope for the best.
