Nope, just a realistic old fart. I don't like worrying about breaking my engine every time I step on it, which is a lot. I have a non-vtec B20. I broke my ring lands at 18 lbs on pump gas and then noticed hairline cracks in the cylinders.
And no, it was not due to the tune (i don't do girly tunes), just too much stress for the cast pistons and stock cylinders. The plugs, combustion chambers and bearings showed no signs of detonation.
So I rebuilt the engine, installed LA sleeves myself, added CP pistons and Eagle rods. I run 18 psi regularly on pump gas. Full boost by 4k in 1st and I buzz it to 7500+ rpm often. Rear wheel drive means no wheel spin, just lots of acceleration

He's vtec head is making him more efficient power then the b20 head. Plus I'm sure going into this he thought about the consequences of making that much power on a stock block.

Ive had it boosted almost 2 years now if it was gonna break it would of a long time ago. I boosted it at 109k miles the car now has 117k still strong 380whp....the only thing thats gone wrong was today my clutch started slipping going twin disc now.

An for you saying the ringlands going an cracking you maybe right.. but I don't care. Cause I melted a piston like 6months ago an orderd $110 doller NPR stock cast pistons off line.
SOOOO!!!!! I'll just do it agian an it will still be a stock motor hitting 10's.
( IT'S ALL ABOUT HAVING FUN AN PUSHING THE BOUNDARYS " TO THE MAX" )

That seems really low for torque. i dont know if this was asked but what kind of turbo manifold/turbo are you running? i made about 375hp 290 lbs trq with a sc61 journal and inline pro manifold. granted yours is stock. TORQUE FTW!!!

Great numbers man, good to see other stock block b20's making some good power and not failing. I just dyno'd my BONE STOCK internal just head studs B20 vtec and made 440 @ only 12psi 330torque on a garrett 60-1. Stopped there to be safe i'm sure 15-18 psi would be impressive. Should have it on the track soon.

An the turbo I an out dated ball bearing 61mm. 61-p innovative turbo. Witch the company is called CT TURBO now ( comp turbo)..
I built it to have low TQ. FWD + LOW TQ = traction. Lol. Or what i want to believe.

Cool.My other car my rex has a stock B20 long block no block guard and no head studs running 15psi for 1 year now.Im in the works of getting one sleeved and then putting a GSR head on it.Its just starting to blow some white smoke cause the rings are getting worn. But yea, some people on here are running stock blocks and doing good. Its all in the tune and how you keep up the oil changes and maintence on the motor. But im gonna try to make 500 at 15 psi if thats possible on 91 octane.Has anyone made those numbers on 91 octane on here??Just curious.
