Hey everyone, I recently just bought a 1998 honda civic SI ( EX in america ) and the engine stamp says d16a. I just wanted to know if anyone knew the specs to this motor because i'm having trouble finding it. I keep getting mixed answers from people telling me that the motor is equivalent to the d16z6 and d16y8..which one is it? the motor does have a vtec solenoid but is there a way for me to figure out what year/model this motor came out from? also, is a d16a a good motor?? thanks, appreciate it.

I had a d16a in my ej1. Its a jdm zc single cam vtec. 130 hp. pretty much same as d16z6(usdm civic si 92-95)but jdm+little more power. d16y8 is single cam vtec out of ek civic(96-00) here in the states, not as good cuz emissions bull**** and other reasons.
