Throwing a code 43, 1990 integra
My CEL just came on for a code 43. The cel only comes on after driving for awhile. The car will drive normal for awhile, but sometimes on acceleration the car will shutter, or once in awhile ill accelerate and the car will randomly accelerate quicker, without me adjusting the gas pedal. Feels like the car is somewhat getting choked for fuel. Anyone have a clue what it could be, im going to try fuel filter this weekend, im hoping its not the fuel pump

at first i thought it could be loose wiring to the o2 sensor, but i was researching and noticed many people who had that problem stated that their driving was unaffected

yeah that could be too, or the o2 sensor might not be tight enough or got soaked with water
that happened to mine too the day i de-greased the engine and the sensor got all soaked up..........check ur spark plugs to see if its running rich or lean

yesterday put in a new fuel filter, and my friend checked out my main relay and i guess repaired a minor damage to it. Come to find out my o2 censor wasnt even plugged in at all, i guess we forgot to do it after doing my swap, car runs fine now, no CEL or bogging

I had code 43 too. I added a permanent fuel pressure gauge to my auto 92 Integra, it helps a lot with diagnosing. I had no fuel pressure. I soldered the main relay, and I had 12 volts going to the fuel pump so I changed the fuel pump. then I only had 32 pounds at idle in the car. still seemed very weak, and later I was driving and code 43 came back again, I changed the fuel pressure regulator ,cranked the car up and now I have 38 pounds of fuel pressure. I think the bad regulator was over working the pump that's why It burned out. hope this helps people in the future. (A couple of days later) .... ******UPDATE**** The cel code 43 for fuel system issue came back. I replaced the o2 sensor with a new one from autozone.($50) Now the code never came back, and I am getting better gas mileage now. I could also tell that the gas cap was good since I could hear a "Hiss" sound when I removed it. (venting the tank pressure) The car has better power now.

Re: Throwing a code 43, 1990 integra
Hi there guys. I gave a 90 integra ls with a b20b4 block and a p75-3 head. I'm throwing code 43 aswell. Everything is plugged in. 02 sensor and all. I just had to route my fan switch back to normal. Due to the previous owner swapping the motor he had the fan sith wired going to crank sensor.anyways I was sitting there holding throttle at 2 grande to get the fan to turn on and my cel came on. Ala code 43 so I took the car for a rip up the street and on my way back down the street it started bogging. So I pulled the dizzy cap cause car had bin sitting for a while and a bit of condensation was in the dizzy cap so I wiped it out and pulled the fuses to my ecu in hopes that was the bogging issue. If it isn't. Could the bogging be then fuel related wich bring me back to the cel?

What Ecu are you running? -BEWARE- I was running a stock pr4 on my B20B and I found it to be running EXTREMELY LEAN regardless of what others say and have done. You are running obd0 with a 1 wire 02 yes? If so cut the wire @ the 02 and run a new one into the car. Cut the wire @ D14 and splice/solder your new wire to confirm you don't have an open or shorted wire from the 02.

Re: Throwing a code 43, 1990 integra
just replaced the o2 and my cel went away. took it for a rip now im throwing a code 17 for my vss wich i knew something was up from the get go cause my speedo wasnt working nor is my gas gauge oddly enough. i put some seafoam into the gas tank to try and see if maybe its the bobber in the tank. i bin reading about the vss and was wondering are they different from standard to auto? if so whats the part number for the standard because i guess i clearly need the vss to get that speedo working.unless its something else but from what ive read code 17 is vss correct?
and i am not sure what ecu i am running. how can i tell? is it on the ecu itself?
