Hi all, I'm new here. I recently purchased my JDM 93 H22A motor/tranny/ecu from HondaMotorsOnline. Everything else, besides some issues of wear/tear and rust from the Accord being old, it's coming along well. What I need help with is the ECU wiring for the motor to the P13 ECU because the harness was and still is cut. I've been told that the VTEC Solenoid, VTEC Pressure Switch, IAB, and Knock Sensor wires have to be added to accomodate the swap. I'm a genuine Toyota tuner at heart and I haven't figured out why the wires have to be added if I'm running an H22A motor with H22A ECU. If anyone has done their own swap and has a detailed description as to how and why this is done, I would greatly appreciate it. I would really like to know how to do the wiring to get everything running right. The basic in's and out's of both motors I understand, it's the wiring that's got my stumped. Thanks in advance for helping.....

It'd be a better night if I figured out this wiring harness...
I actually have that thread bookmarked. I have reason to believe that I suffer from mild retardation because I don't really understand it even after reading that thread about 4-5 times. I'm also running (or was running) an Accord EX ECU and harness. Still don't understand why wires have to be added if I'm running the ECU from the same engine.... Still confused...

I also have that bookmarked but sadly, that was even harder to understand. I'm new to the Honda scene, things are very different here.

I understand your frustration. Dave (4doorh22) will most definitly be able to solve your problem. However, I don't think he is online at 4:24am.

Yeah, I'm sure someone can. I had no idea so many people had done the swap already....

just plug in your stock harness everywhere it fits...there should be a few extra sensors/solinoids you need to add wires to and wire them straight to the ecu...knock sensor, 2 vtec wires...and one vtec ground....and i think you should be good from there

on my p3 dx swap, i had to add the vtec solenoid, vtec pressure switch, and knock sensor wires to my ecu. i am running a 95 jdm h22 with a p13 ecu. i used my old acord dx wiring harness. first off, my old harness did not have vtec wires, so i had to add those two. also, the old f22 didnt have a knock sensor either, so i had to wire that to the ecu. im not sure if the ex motor had a knock sensor, but if it does, then just find out what color the wire is, and make sure it is in the right pin for the ecu. you need to get a wiring diagram of both ecu's to double check that the wires match up. yours was an ex, so all you have to do is look up the wire color to the ecu from your old ecu, and make sure that it is the same on the p13, if not, move it to the right one. you dont have to add new vtec wires.
