Default 99-00 Civic rear quarter window trim removal?

The rear window trim on my car is an absolute eyesore. More of a brown color than black like it should be. I have been putting armor all on them when I wash my car and it looks great up until it rains. I have seen a few cars like mine that don't have window trim. My question is this. How hard is the trim to remove? Does the glass need to be removed? Also, if it's not a total pain in the *** to remove, does the window leak if the trim is removed? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is a picture for reference.

If the owner wants this picture taken down, I will. I'm only using it as an example.

they are really easy to take off you just pull em out... just be careful not to rip em incase you decide you want em back in or something... and it shouln't leak the window is just installed with a caulking...

You're right. They came out easily and it looks a million times better without the faded weather stripping. Thanks for the help.

Done both. Had them on and off at one time or another. Surely that wasn't the crux of the question?

Take you less than a minute to pull off both sides. It's like a big rubber band.
Looking at that pic I might pull mine back off.

And if I chose to reinstall some clean fresh ones, do they go back in as easy? Does anything have to be applied to them to adhere to the window?

They do look clean when removed though..! Just be scared of my window flying out when I'm cruising down the street haha..

They don't go on as easy as they come off. It will take some wrangling; lot's of soapy water. No adhesive. And I drove with the windows like that for 2 years and never had a problem. They're not going anywhere.
