Re: ITR 81 (k20z1 + Boost)
I purchased my car when I was a junior in high school. (2002)
I took me about 2-3 years to save enough money to buy my 1st turbo kit.
Here is a webpage I made to show the setups I've been through.
My Favorite was my 2nd setup. Dual wastegates, built motor, everything was simple. Made 433whpish.

Re: ITR 81 (k20z1 + Boost)
No doubt the car is sick, but I think you just contradicted yourself?
So u swapped a K and turbo'd it for less hp? Im not trying to hate, but Im not sure I follow..
Oh and BTW I would like a 700hp integra. Come to find out 500whp is not enough for me

I agree with the other guy.. you spent all that money, and will end up dropping a valve or cracking a sleeve way before you'll get EVEN CLOSE to what a B-series would do with that same investment. Oh well, live and learn.

Re: ITR 81 (k20z1 + Boost)
I wasn't exact motivated anymore. I sold all the b-series stuff to pay the car off. Was planning just a simple all motor kseries setup because I still enjoyed the car. Overtime, opportunities arrived, and I acquired a turbo kit. I wasn't planning going from a full built bseries setup to another stock turbo kseries setup. It just happened that way.
Overall, Im really happy the car moves on its own power. No more pushing it around the garage.

Re: ITR 81 (k20z1 + Boost)
Looks very well done.
I don't know why you're getting bagged on for going K on boost. If you can afford it, it's definetly worth it. Sure, a B series can do the job more than adequetly on the street and for less money but the K's have a better powerband and can handle a bit more abuse if set up correctly. Me personally i like the simplicity and cost of a boosted B series but wouldn't turn down the chance to have a similar setup to yours.

first itr ive seen with a k, maybe thats what ticks ppl off.
ppl gave me the same feedback when i went from built vitara d16 to stock ls boost... the ls might not hold the same power peak... but its a lot faster because of a better powerband, lag, etc.
car looks good.

Re: ITR 81 (k20z1 + Boost)
pump gas vs pump gas same boost the stock k makes more power sooner everywhere
and there are quite a few k's with just pistons and rods in the low to mid 700 range out there running everyday on the st. check k20a.org on that one
nice build

Re: ITR 81 (k20z1 + Boost)
its me, evan. hows that s2k coming?
1st setup:
Stock b18c5
Full Race Manifold (40mm wastegate) with t3/67 turbo
10-14psi (boost creep blew motor)
300-350whp
2nd setup:
Built b18c5
Full Race Manifold (44mm wastegate) with t3/67 turbo
10-14psi
300-350whp
power
3rd setup: MY FAVORITE SETUP!!
Built b18c5
Full Race Manifold (DUAL 44mm wastegates) with t3/67 turbo
12psi low boost, 15psi high, 20psi race gas
350-450whp, 503whp race gas
power
4th Setup:
Built b18c5
Lovefab T4 manifold (44mm wastegate) with t4/67 turbo (ball bearing)
12psi low boost, 15 high
360whp-470whp
power
5th Setup:
Built b18c5
Full Race Top Mount Manifold (44mm wastegate) with t4/67 turbo (ball bearing)
12psi low, 20psi high
370whp-512whp
6th Setup:
Stock K20z1
AFI Sidewinder Manifold (44mm wastegate) with gt35r turbo
10-14psi (doesnt hold boost, creeps)
NO idea on power, still needing good street tune + iat sensor for ivtec to work.
The ITBS and supercharger never ran on the car. The car started with the turbo kit on it. Everything only has 55-60miles on everything. The car has been running for 6 months.
The car is a big headache actually. Everything on the car goes wrong. Clutchs, motors, leaks, leaks, leaks. You name it, it has leaked. I have learned alot though over the years. I wouldnt give up any of it. Everything has been good experiences with the car.
Ive done ITR expo in 2004, 20-30 Autocrosses, 1-2 road courses. Owned a internet part company.
I havent done much with the car in about 3-4 years though.

WOW.
Cats in here are actually hating because you spent YOUR money on a K setup. C'mon guys, its HIS money, if thats what he wants to do, then so be it.
