B.R.E. Motorsports, Inc RR s14 fab pics
Heres a little something we have been working on. We showed the car off at the PRI show.
Then Speedhunters.com nominated the car for "Reader car of the year award"
Vote for us if you get a chance!
http://speedhunters.com/archive/2011...-year-wip.aspx
As I get all these pictures sorted out I'll put them in order and show all the stages of the car.
We go into: Custom engine/trans mounts for the ls7 engine
Chemical dipping the entire car to eliminate everything but steel
Custom sheet metal one off wide body
Cross member raising and solid with chassis
One off BRE coilovers with full hime ends
Fuel cell by ATL
Fire wall modifications (front/rear)
Fabricating seat mounts
Dry sump system
Steering column and aftermarket brake/clutch/throttle pedals
Custom brake system
Many more to come...

i agree with TinyT, and you guys used sheet metal? wtf? wth is this car designed for now that you have added about 500lbs of extra material? you added a ton of weight and put an ls7 motor in it? congrats you just made it as fast as it was stock body with the stock ka in it.
nice fab work, but next time you want to do a widebody you should look into fiberglass.

i'm not a body guy, but i can really appreciate the work that has gone into this. wow. this car may not get love from all people who look at it, but it has certainly gotten a lot of love from the hands that built it. great metal working skills!

The sheet metal is 24GA pretty thin, even more thin than the factory sheet metal, and all the layers that go into it. We haven't added 500lbs of extra material. Plus the new crush panels will be made out of aluminum.
The LS7 is mounted lower and than the KA and farther back so that's how we ended up compensating for that. I was thinking the same thing.
We do build fiberglass and carbon fiber products in house. We will be building molds and reproducing the body and installing after he get's some body damage. There was a large amount of interest in purchasing the body at the PRI show in Orlando, FL.
The car is way lighter than you think. We have removed an enormous amount of metal we didn't need.
Thanks!
Thank you!, That's what we are here for. This pure passion.
Thanks!

I'm glad to see Oscar and Pierre have decided to finally call it a track car and not worry about keeping stuff that doesn't belong - like A/C!

Is this what you teach in your apprentice program?
http://www.bremotorsports.com/resour...entice-program
And why is all the fab work taking place in another shop?

We started and finished doing our sheet metal work along with the rest of the car but we needed to use a big sheet metal brake and shear that we just don't have yet.
I rented equipment at a closed down fabrication shop to get some of the big stuff done.
We are in process of getting our chassis dyno and construction built inside the shop.
I'll post pics of our new engine room later. Chassis dyno cell next along with our fab room being built on the other side of the shop.
