Where is the grommet(firewall) hole in a 2002 civic si?
im installing my brothers amp for him and i cant seem to find the grommet hole (the hole in the firewall which has a plastic plug in it) so that i can run the power cord through it...does the 02 si not have a pre-made hole in the firewall for wiring? i know my 93 accord does but im not sure if the si does...

not all cars have them, sometimes you have to go thorugh an exisiting engine harness gromment, or drill a new hole and grommet it yourself with the one that came in your amp install kit.

Re: (doublethink)
i got stuck doing an Si.. there's no room worth **** on that firewall. Tapping your own hole is pretty much out of the question. I was forced to go thru the factory gromet on the pass side about a foot and a half from the fender. Used a razor blade to make a small cut, and had to screw with a wire puller for about 35 minutes to find where it came out in the car. Have to admit doing those cars is not real fun lol

Here is a trick I use to cut holes in grommets to keep them waterproof, I have about 10 old staged ant., [ 3,4 and 5 part, the slide into themselfs to make the ant. shorter or longer] I take them apart and end up with diff. diameter "tubes", sharpen the outside edge at one end, and you have a "grommet hole saw" use one that is a little smaller in gage then the wire to cut a clean round hole in grommet, that is damn near airtight when wire is in. 94
