Default Injector question.

It seems as if the injectors sold by Grams is the same Bosch injectors sold by others.

Any truth to this?

Not an expert. I have 20+ years worth of injector experience but I wouldn't consider myself an expert.

That is why I am asking questions.

You some kind of disgruntled RC Eng employee Brian?

Enlighten the community on your thoughts on injectors.

Who Brian?

I don't work for anyone.

I am asking questions here, not dishing out knowledge.

Well, working with the boys at AEM on the RWD 6 second car and Bergenholtz and Kubo on their FWD 7 second cars.

Looking at the Motec datalogs, it seems the injector doesn't seem to matter a whole lot.

Execution does matter.

But this was way back in the days.

Maybe it's a bit different now.

Care to share your current experiences with your 8 second car?

Being I know members of the bergenholtz team from when I crewed on a few gm cars I'd say you should also know how to properly set a wheelie bar. But that's neither here or there.

My experience is properly matched injectors matter at all power levels. 2% deviation can matter a lot on a 1000+ hp car.

BTW fastest/quickest fwd cars ran fast xfi.

So why are id's so bad? Pretty sure back then everyone just pour methanol into their engines with 2-3 sets of Bosch 1600's

I'm just curious as to his findings. With 20+ years of injector experience he's gotta know a thing or two. Unless those 20+ years came in the stock room or shipping dept.

Also curious as to his roll on the teams he mentioned. A name like xtrac on teams that ran Fortin transmissions seems fishy.

Troll on.

I would think a guy with the name xtrac would have injectors and wheelie bars down pat. It's like he's got the name motec and he's asking questions about staging or preloading.

I would, but I rather make money off it.

But if I do enter full scale production, it'll get copied with the quickness, no way to patent it.

What's a guy to do?
