Default Whats wrong with this transmission?

I've got a GSR transmission, and I was checking it out today. The only test I can do really is if you stick your finger into the differential / where the axle goes, and you lift up or down, it's loose, on both sides. Comparing this to several other transmissions, they don't do it...what's wrong with it? Something that wasn't put together correctly? Differential bad?

The more information the better, I'm moderately ignorant when it comes to transmission internals.

Thanks

The diff itself is loose or the spider gears in the diff? If the diff is loose, don't get the trans as it has a lot of problems. If its the spider gears, you might be able to get by with just replacing the diff. Some play in them is ok, but they shouldn't feel loose.
