2000 Honda Odyssey surging at idle P0336
Hello,
I changed the timing belt on my Odyssey. The problem began when I went to start the engine after install. At idle the engine revs between 1.5 and 2.5 rpms. Checked timing marks and all reference marks were aligned. Also the check engine light came on with a P0336 code. I have removed the alternator and the battery and they both bench tested fine. Took the van on a little test run down the road and it actually stabilized at 1000 rpm and then when I drove about a 1/4 of a mile, the engine started surging again. Checked all the connectors that I removed and everything appears to be o.k. I haven't taken everything back apart to check the CKP sensor yet, was hoping somebody would have a better idea of what to check before I tore everything apart again. Also I checked the p.s. sensor wiring everything ok there to. I am at a lose for what to do next. Any ideas or helpful hints?
Thanks

Check the connection for the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor at the oil pump. May have disconnected during the timing belt service. Otherwise, a short or bad ground in this circuit.
