BRAD PENN® Penn Grade 1® Racing Oils contain highly effective detergent and dispersant additives to guarantee exceptional engine cleanliness as well as oxidation and foam inhibitors that offer protection against thermal degradation and air entrainment. In addition to their unique base oil cut, increased concentration of “zinc” (zinc dialkyldithiophosphate a.k.a. ZDDP) provides outstanding anti-wear/anti-scuffing protection for engines employing either ‘flat tappet’ or roller cams. BRAD PENN® Penn Grade 1® Racing Oils have been evaluated by a number of premiere camshaft manufacturers with tremendous success. We here at T1 Race Development have seen an increase in cam and rocker life while using BRAD PENN® Penn Grade 1® Racing Oils. We now offer 10w30, 20w50, and the break in specific oils.

Depends on your bearing clearances. With ACL race bearings I ran 20w50 for years. Some say it's too thick but I had zero issues

^^ +1
remember to change your oil every 1000 miles. Advanced auto has filter and 5qts oil for 17.00. and i change mine once a month..
Just another expense w/ premium fuel to keep our boosted rides going.

I changed over to Royal Purple about a month ago and about 2-3 days later I spun #4 rod bearing! I totally blame that ****! I turned crank and installed new bearings and went back to Valvoline 10w30 with no issues. I have ran Valvoline for like 10 years no issues on all my cars....N/A and turbo! Never gonna even think about trying something different in the future...EVER! lol. I call that purple crap Royal Pain in the ***! haha.

Whoa... thousand mile oil changes? Crazy.. I put 5k per change on Rotella T 10-40 for 60k miles, until my head stud broke and screwed the block threads up when changing the head gasket.

I use rotella synthetic and it lasts a while longer than
normal oil. Normal oil lasts about 1k till it pours like water
for me.

Usually most motor oils have this approved seal, this is why i buy the cheap ****. valvoline, castrol, quaker (i dont use quaker state) is cheap, and when u change oil often, your not spending 30-40 per oil change. mine is 17.00 including filter.

brad penn,
I choose it bc of the cam wear agents it contains that other oils don't. If you are running an after market cam I would look into it.
