My Gas Gauge wont Go down
Well on my way to work yesterday I noticed that my Fuel Gauge would not go down I have been driving like a bat out of hell for the past three days and the gas has stayed on Full the whole time. Second thing I noticed when I was gettin outside and going into work I run back to my car to get my hat I look the Gas gauge is STILL at Full....shouldn't it go back down to empty like all the other gauges....I have a 97 Civic EX just incase anyone might need to know. What kind of problem is this?
Also I filled the tank on Saturday morning and I remember it was almost empty....someone let me know whats going on.
Thanks alot

Re: My Gas Gauge wont Go down (StreetRacinThug)
I was just reading up in the search forums an came across an old post hope it helps...
"If you take your cluster apart and look behind the temp gauge, take the metal cap cover off , now there are tinnnnnyy little hairlike cables that make the guage move up and down. These little hairlike cables have current and if just 1 of them breaks, then thats what happens to your gauge. Use a magnifying glass and look very carefully at the little cables. There should be about 4 little terminals in the corners, this is where most of them snap off. If you get lucky and find the problem, then you have to weld the 2 cables back together."
You could also save a headache and just buy a new cluster.. lol...

sweet....now you are getting great gas mileage!!!!
you'll never run out of gas
most likely your thing in the tank got stuck in the upper position....

My gauge (00 dx hatch) doesn't move AT ALL until about 120-130 km (75-80miles) of driving. drops faster the less fuel there is in the tank.. fuel gauges arent too accurate in general

Re: (Flar)
mine will go 150 miles before it moves off full.
then at 200 im at half
if yours is actually broken, what you should do is go fill up your tank completely, and set your trip, and when the mileage on the trip hits the average miles you get before you fill up, go filler up again
