piston ring installation ?
im in the process of building my b16... im planning on running overbore ctr pistons with oem rings... i have heard that you can place the rings 180 degrees apart from each other to prevent blowby... has anyone done this and what results have you got?... are there any advantages/disadvantages over the oem placement?... thanks

why would i pay a shop to do it?... i have built many motors but ive always installed the rings to oem spec... i just read an article where erik aguilar was building an all motor gsr and he placed the rings all 180 degrees off from each other... all it said was to reduce the chance of any blowby leaking past the rings... i was just looking for someone to elaborate more on this and to give their own experience if they have done it
http://www.boosted-hybrid.com/viewtopic.php?t=326 ... in that link if you scroll down it says you can place them 180 degrees off but it doesnt say why

Re: piston ring installation ? (hybrid_vtec)
When look at the rsx manual, the positions of the piston rings are the same as Endyn.
