Bosch ceramic brake pads. "Dustless?"
I bought a set of front c/d slotted brembo rotors. So I figured while I go all out I might as well get some new pads, so I invested in some Bosch "dustless, quiet" ceramic break pads. I have been using the setup for nearly a month now and the dust is just unbearable, my whole rim is turning black. Do you think that it is just because the rotors are cd and slotted or do you think that i got bad pads. The ones on before never made dust(that was also with stock rotors). Thank you for any help

No such thing as a "dustless" pad. My experince has been the more dustless they claim the pad is, the worse it dusts. Brake dust comes from the pad material wearing due to friction.
Just wash your car every other week or so, and it won't be a problem. I got me one of those fancy pants wheel brushes...

you're sure those are the real Brembo rotors? I've seen cheap imitation brembo rotors on ebay..
Bosch wouldn't put out a "dusty" pad and claim it "dustless"..
My AEM pads aren't wearing, no dust.. stock rotors.. i'd say they are your rotors bud..

Re: Bosch ceramic brake pads. "Dustless?" (econorocket)
But what I dont understand is that these are Bosch pads, I spent like $100 on these things not to mention the Brembo rotors. My stock rotors and pads didn't make as much dust in 2 weeks as these things do in 1 day. I had to replace them because they were warped. But I am wondering if the c/d and slotted'nis of the rottors is causing the pads to wear down faster. Thanks again for any help

I am pretty sure they are Brembos They have Brembo ected into the side wall and they were like $170. And I know the pads are Bosch they came in the Bosch box, however the rotors did not, I figured the etching was a good enough recipt

dude, brembo doesn't make both slotted and c/d. Those could be blanks that they had a shop drill for them or some cheap generic ****. Your rotors wont last very long.

I researched the ceramic pads vs metalmaster pads before I bought. The ceramic pads were always worse when it came to the dust it put out. It is a different color I heard but it will put a fair amount of brake dust. I think the slotted rotors make the brake dust worse because as the rotor cuts into the brake pad, it makes it dust up more .

That's funny. I made that same spelling error on R1-Forum and got ridiculed. I won't do that to you, though.
I had the Bosch "dustless" pads on my 01 GTI and they were pretty good, but not dust free. In my opinion, they are comparable to the EBC Greenstuff pads. I don't believe there is a pad out there that is 100% dust free.
