Thats the conclusion ive come to but I stuck a meter on it at the ecu and it seemed good. It throws thecode immediatly every start up

About 50% of the time I start my car it has a hesitstion when you step on the gas. It has the check engine light on with code 9 "cylinder position sensor."

Im trying to troubleshoot my car. More specifically im looking for the cylinder position sensor, but they don't sell these separate from the distributor. Anyone out there have one?

well the new ecu did not solve the problem. I guess my next move is to get a new distributor. I hate to do that, since the distributor in there is already new. Maybe i'll just get a junkyard...

This is what I did the other day. Disconnected the ecu and checked the resistance of the cylinder sensor circuit. It showed 400 ohms. Which is within spec and should not be throwing a code. At least...

I have a feeling its the ecu, not the sensor. I checked the resistance and it is within spec. Using my sherlock Holmes skills I came to the conclusion that the previous owner got the code and...

This is more like 1000rpm and it only does it every once in a while. Restarting the car fixes it. Restarting the car wouldn't fix dirty ports. I think it could maybe be the valve misfunctioning

im pretty sure its not the plug wires. My old plug wires looked fine but i changed them and its identical. Also, i don't think wires would be so predictable in that i can turn the key off and back...

im still having the same problem. I replaced the cap, rotor and ignitor/controller and it had no effect. Same thing. Hesitation from every stop, turn the key off and back on and it ran perfect...
