Re: '91 Accord Wagon LX failed emissions/high NO

OK, I did some vacuum testing it seems the Purge Cut Solenoid Valve (36166-PE7-662) is allowing some vacuum to escape. It connects to the top of the charcoal canister. I'm not familiar with these old...

Re: '91 Accord Wagon LX failed emissions/high NO

I got the NOx down but it failed the evap test. :thud:

So I changed out my 2 year old copper plugs for iridium, and changed dist cap, rotor, wires, PCV valve and air filter. I also ran some Lucas...

'91 Accord Wagon LX failed emissions/high NO

My '91 Accord Wagon has over 367k miles. It's passed California smog every time as long as I do a tune-up first. Last check, 2 yrs ago, I was lazy and it failed due to high NOx levels. Smog tech...

Re: E 4WD Won't track straight (kind of) at highway speeds

I've mostly chalked it up to the new tires the PO put on. The problem seems to have calmed down as they've worn in. Bushings looked fine, but next chance I get I'll be checking for any loose...

Re: E 4WD Won't track straight (kind of) at highway speeds

Maybe because of it's short wheel base?

E 4WD Won't track straight (kind of) at highway speeds

We bought this 2008 Element 4WD with 105k miles on it recently from a private party. The test drive was on fast surface streets and it felt great. On the way home I noticed it felt like it was...

Re: left axel and upper ball joint

^^ +1 on the quality. And if you can afford it, do the right one too. Best done in pairs to avoid a surprise down the road.

And on axles, I've had pretty good luck with Napa's. I've seen...

Re: '91 Wagon Leaking Head Gasket...WWYD?

That's what I was wondering about these heads, if I could just do the HG with out getting too far into it. Thanks guys. I think one of my fellow mechs here might have a straight edge.

I was just...

Re: '91 Wagon Leaking Head Gasket...WWYD?

I'm aiming high at $1500, citing the fact this car has all the recent work, straight and clean body, etc. Hoping someone at least makes an offer.

Re: 2003 Element w/intermittent start problem

FWIW, I've found OEM ignition switches on Eb@y for less than $40. OEM from dealer will be much higher. Aftermarket is cheaper too but close to the OEM Eb@y price. I prefer OEM. Amazon will have...

Re: 1993 Accord Delayed and High RPM Shifting

Are you keeping your ATF clean and with Honda fluid? If not, I'd start there. Our cars have no external filter to change, just an internal screen accessible only during a teardown. I've taken to...

Re: motor mounts

From experience, OEM lasts much longer. Aftermarket is cheaper and tempting, especially with lifetime warranties like AutoZone. Only problem with aftermarket, other than not lasting, is having to...

'91 Wagon Leaking Head Gasket...WWYD?

My unmolested '91 Accord Wagon, with 358K miles, has finally started leaking at the head gasket. It got parked as soon as I saw the wet #1 and #2 pistons and plugs and low coolant. No milky oil...

Re: '91 Accord Wagon - New Lock Won't Lock

Is there a reset procedure after replacing a lock/latch assy? It seems it's just the motor that is causing the problem. It wants to resist either direction of the manual side of the lock (knob...

'91 Accord Wagon - New Lock Won't Lock

I replaced my tailgate lock/latch assy due to the tell tail sticking of the old worn latch. But now the electric lock won't work properly.

When I push the knob to lock it the knob just pops back...

Re: '91 Wagon intermittent stalling.

Just to wrap this up, it was my oxygen sensor after all. I've had no stalling issues since replacing it shortly after my last post.

Re: '91 Wagon intermittent stalling.

Reading back in my own posts I recall having the code 43 but only once. Though it passed smog recently should I change the O2 sensors?

Re: '91 Wagon intermittent stalling.

I got it to act up again with the gauge hooked up. This time it only took a couple miles and the symptoms lasted much longer. I didn't think I'd make it back. Good thing is I got to see what the...

Re: '91 Wagon intermittent stalling.

Work took me away for a while.

So after I blew out the breather hose to the fuel tank it didn't seem to want to stall anymore but we kept our driving local with short trips. I even hooked up a...

Re: '91 Accord 'Blinking S Light', Shifting Issues, Speedometer issue

If you end up needing a VSS, beware of the aftermarket ones off Ebay. I had one years ago that was bad right out of the box.

Re: '91 Wagon intermittent stalling.

I read up and the fuel cap will only release an excess amount of pressure to avoid spraying fuel when opened. The pressure and vacuum balance in the tank is handled by the two way valve on top of...

Re: '91 Wagon intermittent stalling.

I just did this. Brilliant and thank you! I should have thought of it as a blocked vent tube is common on one of my bikes.

So as it began stalling on me again I pulled over, left it running, and...

Re: help oil leaking!!!!

First, are you sure it is your puddle and not already there before you parked?

Check the back side of both wheels and your brake backing plates. If either are wet then you have a brake cylinder...
