Well I'd say coolant is mixing somewhere with oil. And that sludge is deadly to a motor
Maybe try a leak down test and see if you're loosing air anywhere to see if you are loosing air through the...

1 notch off can stop it from it from starting. 3 notches can bend valves. Retime it and compression test it before putting it back together. To ensure no bent valves are present

ya actually I ending up finding a post about retrofitsource.com and found the wiring kit and the other piece I needed. I found the write up on the a4 retrofit which is what I will do instead. Thanks

looks like the knock sensor plug. Not a 100% but its right above the oil filter where the h22a4's are.
