fuel system component identification

Picked up a shell the other day and this is mounted on the drivers shock tower. Looks like its tied into the fuel or evap.

Just looking for someone to tell me wtf it is or what its for.

DO NOT USE LOCKTITE!!!!! You will make it so much harder to get out again.

The factory says 130 ft/lbs for the crank bolt....that should keep it in there.

I've heard that soaking the bolt in...

fak yeah!!! Got it!

heated the bolt head dull red, air impact did nothing. Put the breaker bars and snipes back on....she cracked loose, put me on my ass. DONE

I'm replacing the water pump, crank oil seal etc. anyways. I'm more worried about bearings or something else major. IDK try it and see....I guess.:crook:

Thats how I broke 2 1/2" extensions and a 1

Can anyone answer the original ? Can u damage anything major(at this point I don't care about damaging the pulley itself, just the crank or something) by heating...

Bolt has been soaked for days in "WD-40" then went to "Moovit" then "PB Blaster"

I started w/ 1/2" elec impact, then 3/4" and chain wrench for back-up. Got pulley holder tool and tried 4' snipe...

heating crank pulley bolt

Looking for some first hand experience on the matter. I have searched but have gotten lots of conflicting answers. Some say "give er" some say damage can occur to the dampener or crank itself.

So car was stolen few weeks back....when I got it back from inpound it was beat pretty bad(HG blown, MIL lights code 22, 23 and some others I'm forgetting)

Those numbers shouldn't give you those symptoms. Did u try oil over top of the piston? was the motor hot or cold on the compression test?
