Re: 80 Accord Hatch, power failure
Well you said the dome light worked, so it had power. Then you turned the key and lost it right? Am I missing something here?
Zero power was exactly what was wrong with mine. No power to anything....

Re: 80 Accord Hatch, power failure
It would be the cylinder. No, I think it could be that. You just don't have the exact symptoms mine had. Do you lose power when the key is turned on, or when you crank it to engage the starter? I...

Re: 80 Accord Hatch, power failure
No it was in the steering column. There was an ignition lock and ignition switch. The lock is where you put the key in, and the switch activates the main electrical systems for the vehicle. They are...

When this happened to my dakota, there was no power to the vehicle whatsoever. Key on, no power. Key off, no power.

Re: 80 Accord Hatch, power failure
Could this be an ignition switch issue? I had the same problem with a Dodge Dakota awhile back and it was the ignition switch. Just throwing it out there. Good luck

Yeah, mine has two hoses. How do I know which one does what? I thought one was to advance and the other to retard. Are you saying when I check the timing I should have one disconnected and plugged? I...

vacuum advance/ retard mechanism test??
I'm having a problem with my timing. I'll set it, and it runs good but then it'll start running like crap. I'll check the timing and it'll be off. The timing belt and water pump look to be fairly...

For sure it's worth it. If mine was half that nice, I'd be doing the same. Instead I'm just looking for the right cliff to drive her off of.
You should be able to get 50 mpg with it! The 1.3's...

Re: Hey all, looking into Civic's as a first car. I need help!
The only downside to these is that they're not fuel injected. They do get excellent gas mileage though. I could pull 50 mpg on the freeway with mine, but it is the 1300. That's a good looking car...

Manual? Have you changed the fluid? If not, I'd change it and put in a high quality synthetic like royal purple or red-line. That will stretch the little bit of life left in it.
