Re: Cruise Control out

Did you check to make sure all your brake lights are working? All of them have to work or the CC won't work.

Re: Getting new struts, need help putting together a new complete assembly.

The OEM springs on this gen are pretty worthless. I changed my struts and used the old springs at about the same mileage as you and ended up pulling everything back out and putting in new springs......

Re: Help with 2007 Honda Odyssey trouble code P0175

1. You may need a valve lash adjustment. Notice the valves making more noise than usual? Should be done every 60-100K miles anyways.

2. Bad injector(s)

3. Bad fuel pressure regulator

Re: new to 1.7's but a seniored Honda owner questions

1. It all depends on how it's driven. Drive it like a car and not a race car and you should be fine. You have to remember these are city cars and are geared that way. You can rev it good when...

Re: Accelerator pedal stiff

A lot of times a stiff pedal is due to buildup in the throttlebody- on the plate and in the throat.

Re: fuel gauge sending unit 01 to 05?

There's 2 different types of fuel pumps and a lock nut for each type so, you'd have to try it and if doesn't work you're gonna need a new one. Which run $50-60.

BTW: That's the fuel pump assembly,...

Re: 2002 Civic, error code P1457?

That's an EVAP code (Evaporative emissions). It's the system that keeps fuel vapor from escaping into the air. Without a vacuum pump, multimeter and about 8 pages of the service manual you would have...

Re: Tie Rod Question

Inner rods aren't usually needed and are nearly impossible to replace without taking the entire rack out. Go with the MOOG.

Re: Timing belt tensioner

It shouldn't leak grease. I'd replace it.

What kind of idle issues? Did you replace the brake booster hose?

Re: 2003 Honda Civic Repair Question

Believe it or not those swaybars actually help a lot with side to side movement (sway). While not intrinsically dangerous they do help with handling and you should be ok as long as you don't drive it...

Re: Completely stumped 2005 EX Brake Light problem

The cruise control won't work if any of the brake lights aren't working, it's a safety feature.

With both of them not working suspect it's either the ground or the switch on the steering column....

Re: Dim Cluster Lights & Power Locks - Civic 2002 EX

I'd get a new gauge cluster, but that shouldn't affect the door locks. I'd also unbolt that ground and make sure there is no corrosion and then make sure it's bolted down tight.

Re: Dim Cluster Lights & Power Locks - Civic 2002 EX

Pull the gauge cluster and check the ground under where the cluster sits.

* Disconnect the negative battery cable and wait at least 3 minutes before working on electrical.

Re: 04 LX rear windows not working

Usually when more than 1 window has trouble it's the master window switch assembly in the driver's door. The first step is to do the pin-out on the master switch assembly. I don't have it anymore as...

Re: New Civic coupe Value Package

If it didn't come with a remote it probably didn't come with an alarm/keyless entry. And it's been discontinued by Honda so you would either have to find one on eBay or similar and install it...

Re: Can I use a 03 Civic D17A1 engine with no EGR Valve in a 05 Civic LX with EGR Val

It may run right but I doubt it because it'll be constantly looking for the EGR... and no way will it pass emissions.

Re: 2001 civic transaxel engaged but not moving wheels

Your title is at odds with your post. The transmission is not engaged when it won't go into gear.

If the transmission won't go into gear check/bleed the clutch master and slave cylinders.

Re: Need Some Answers

Follow the fuel rail from the injectors back to the first disconnect.

Yeah, Hondas don't like anything but Honda/Denso sensors. Check for bad terminal(s) at the sensor connector.

Re: Need Some Answers

Is it throwing any codes? Do you have any buildup on the throttle plate?

It sounds like a fuel problem. You may want to check fuel pressure if it's throwing no codes.

Re: Grinding noise when accelerating, very bad now

Rebuild usually costs $1500-2000. You can save $500 by removing and installing yourself.

You can get a used tranny for cheap, but it'll cost you $1000 for install.

If that's as much as the car...

Re: Grinding noise when accelerating, very bad now

Hard to say without taking it apart. The 2001 and 2002 transmissions are known for this thoogh, but it usually happens in 1st and 2nd. My 2001 did it in 1st for the 4 years I had it. Probably time...

Re: Grinding noise when accelerating, very bad now

Did it start when the check engine light came on? Any performance related codes?

Other than the grinding, does everything work fine?

Just to clarify, it only happens in certain gears, right?

Re: REAL CONUNDRUM- 1990 Accord won't start

No code retrieval means a problem with the ECU... or none of them have worked on a vehicle this old in years and don't know how to read that there are no codes. They are dealer techs after all.
