Re: Need help identifying a part of my transmission

That looks about right. Hopefully I don't buy it and find out I don't need it. So you experienced the left to right movement while still in gear, correct? And when this item was replaced you had no...

Need help identifying a part of my transmission

This is the bottom of the shifter underneath the car. It is some kind of boot that goes around the bottom of the shifter. I think it is why my shifter moves left and right while it is in gear...

Re: I push on the brakes and idle goes up ?

I thought RPMs increase when you press brakes because it uses some engine power to use the power brakes (hydraulic). When I'm sitting at a light, and I push pretty hard (not abusively) on the brakes,...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

Interesting. Can you see the plug from the outside? I think I have a blown piston ring too and possibly a blown head gasket so I'm planning on getting the head pulled off anyways. Is it where the...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

Thanks brudda!!!! I'll check that out for sure. Will the level be different if the front end is jacked up and the rear is sitting down? Do I need to get all four wheels off the ground? I'll for sure...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

It could be other oil, it tends to be darker oil, when it should be a lighter color since I add and do oil changes frequently because it leaks so much. How can I check for a mid shaft seal leak? My...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

Thanks! You're definitely right. The people I bought it off of, stated it has a type r water pump, after all the things I've found he said were untrue, I doubt this is the anomaly that is true haha....

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

I have not. But I took a few extra pictures of it, and from what I can see, it's pretty dry around it.

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

Yeah, I just noticed that too. Do you know what that is called or where I can pick up an aftermarket one (if aftermarket is necessary)? It's in pretty bad shape, I really learned a good lesson from...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

YESSS!! I do burn oil and I do get smoke from the tail pipe, mainly when I'm sitting around 3-4k rpms for a while (going up a hill) and then it starts to ploom out of the tailpipe like a chimney. A...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

I definitely think it could be from the head gasket. But that couldn't be where all the oil is coming from. Most of the oil that drips, is coming from the back of the block, either where the oil pan...

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

This is a 92 civic hatchback. it has a b18b1 block with a b16 vtec head. Could what you say still be true if these are my motor specs? seems like a viable option!
\Thanks!

Re: Lots of Oil Leaking from Back of Block, need help!!!!

The highest point is right on the front left corner (exhaust side) of the block. A little below the head gasket. I don't think there is any other oil above that. It's mainly dripping down onto my...
