Nice! Good to hear man, yeah these motors almost always blow the hg under boost with the stock headstuds. Have you put it on the dyno or made it to the track yet?

no spark b18b1 possible bad coil?

my engine sounds like a subaru engine. I think I have no spark on cyl# 4 which would be the closest cyl to the distributor if I'm not mistaken. The reason I think this is because I pulled all 4 plugs...

my sohc vtec was a D17A2 not a D16 so maybe that explains the difference? :shrug:

Well I can agree with you theres nothing really special about it. I'm not trying to say vtec is like michael knight pressing the turbo boost button in the trans am named "kit" or anything like that...

You should be able to feel vtec kick in even on the sohc. It IS very subtle like you said but you should definitely feel it if you're paying close attention for it...let me describe it like...

no vtec huh... not that a stock d16 has loads of power to begin with but, I can imagine its running like a old tired dog in the upper rpms

When I had my sohc vtec, for the most part you usually wouldnt feel the vtec kick in that much. When I noticed it the most it was while I had the a/c on. vtec should kick in somewhere around...

glad to see you're making progress! I feel your pain about the wheel bearings. I just had my front wheel bearings replaced. I dont have the tools to do it myself. I had to pay the shop to do it....

it very well could be my exhaust. my test pipe is only 2.25" so its bottle necking right after the header. I'm gonna change that when I get around to it.

I've read that the zex cams perform well with boost. you should research them. take the crank to the machine shop and see what they think about it?

I have the same cat back exhaust I think lol did you have the 2.25" inlet cut off and replaced with a 2.5"?
