Re: electrics

Check all fuses, then check all wires for rodent damage. Good luck.

Re: I think the Honda Fit I recently bought has serious structural issues

The entire body is the "unibody". I can only assume that the damage to your car falls into that definition. Get the "Carfax" report. I'm sure that your damage came from a rear-end collision, and I...

Re: I think the Honda Fit I recently bought has serious structural issues

It looks to me as if the re-paint was done after a poor body shop repair after a rear-end crash. You should get a Carfax report by using your VIN on-line. That won't fix any of the obvious damage,...

Re: Bent front end jacking improperly

Here is some more possible bad news- if you did not get the maintenance records from past service work on your used Fit, your mileage indicates that you are very likely due for spark plugs, new...

Re: Bent front end jacking improperly

Your body shop guy is right. Fuel efficient cars of today are made with light gauge sheet metal all over- body and frame, to reduce weight.. Trucks are made pretty much the same way, except that the...

Re: Bent front end jacking improperly

Sorry to hear about your negative "life lesson". If you bought the Fit new and you can find your Owner's Manual, I suggest that you read it carefully before you attempt any more maintenance jobs. If...

Re: Misfire Blues

Obviously, in the 150 K miles on your engine, the valve clearance has never been adjusted. That maintenance procedure should have been done a very long time ago,and you are lucky that the engine runs...

Re: Misfire Blues

Adjust the valve clearance and your problems will go away. Valve clearance adjustment is part of normal maintenance for all Fits.

Re: Alarm going off and doors auto lock issue

I would like to help, but my GD3 was wrecked at 18K miles (without your issues) when a meth-head in a lifted pick up pushed my it off a cliff with me int it. Fit was totaled and I healed. So far,...

Re: I have a 07 fit that keeps blowing the IG fuel pump fuse

Your Fit is of the production age designated by the letters "GD" in the first few digits in your VIN. Helm Inc. publishes the shop repair manuals for all Honda Fits. Look on-line for HELM repair...

Re: I have a 07 fit that keeps blowing the IG fuel pump fuse

If old age and bearing wear caused the fuel pump to freeze up, it could cause it to require enough excess current to blow the fuse. If the pump is dead (located in the fuel tank), and if you have...

Re: I have a 07 fit that keeps blowing the IG fuel pump fuse

It seems like something is causing a short circuit in the harness protected by your #11 fuse. Check for rodent damage under the hood on all wires that you can see and feel. I suggest that you try...

Re: Automatic shifter button

Read your owner's manual. The transmission locks in the Park position. The button unlocks the lever so that it can be moved out of "Park".

Re: Minimize risk of mold on AC condensor

The whole issue is moot, as long as you drive in the normal areas and circumstances. If you go off-roading in a Florida swamp regularly, maybe mold on automotive surfaces might be a concern. Mold...

Re: AC went up in smoke

Replacing the compressor is fairly easy. Remove your serpentine belt, and the compressor is held in place by four bolts that fasten to the front side of the oil pan (no, not the engine block as with...

Re: Amber rear turn signals on US 2015 Fit

I have not looked at the tail lights of the 2015 Fits, but if the tail lights have clear lenses, all you would have to do is change the color of the bulbs. GE Fits have clear lenses with amber...

No rodents since the dryer sheet on the cabin air filter. Smells OK in the car too. Yep. Also, no doors left ajar again, EVER.

Re: Permanent windshield fluid trickle above the driver

The driver side wiper blade is about 1-1/2" too short on GE8 Fits. The untouched top area of glass allows water to collect and the air stream going over the windshield allows the water to stay...
