Re: Options for Former Smoker's Car

New cabin filter and shampoo all cloth (carpet and seats). Air it out. For a while, I'd run fans so air is coming from cowl and isn't circulating. A neutralizing air fresher might help if you...

Re: 1995 Civic Ex: transplanting a '99 b20b with 5 speed from CRV

It's hard for me to estimate but I'd guess about 165-175whp. Basic bolt on B16A is about 150whp on a dynojet. A basic bolt on B18C1 is about 170whp on a dynojet.

Re: My "No girlfriend, EK build"

If you are swapping a K-series, I'd think about an EG subframe and EKK2 mounts. It will get the motor closer to center of chassis and give you more room at the radiator support. A RBC IM with EK...

Re: Best media to use in abrasive cabinet

There are options. Walnut seems to be a good one for aluminum. I was told the rule of thumb is finer media gets gentler/smoother results where course is more abrasive but puts in work.

Re: Long term qsd steering rack effects

I don't see any long term issues. (assuming things are installed correctly).

Think of it like a bicycle and you change the sprockets to give it a new ratio. No long term issues....just a different...

Re: My intake manifold is packed with coolant?

A cheap Harbor Freight manual pump might work.

Turkey baster with a Jack in the Box straw? Those straws are kinda big in diameter and could be connected to the baster. What a hassle though.

re: Crank, No Start. Stumped (solved)

Do plugs smell like gas after you've turned it over a bunch? They shouldn't because you have spark. If that's the case....fuel seems the next focus.

Edit: did you use a diode (or some version of a...

re: Crank, No Start. Stumped (solved)

My car needed a main relay and it did not have these symptoms. It wouldn't even turn over and fuel pump didn't prime (or turn on at all).

My bet is something inside the dizzy or something with the...

Re: VERY weird overheating issue, help!!

When it spikes after the highway....fan is running then?

Will it spike with no AC and climate system turn off?

I own a lisle funnel. It's a nice tool...especially for my Kswap EG. It allows me...

Re: VERY weird overheating issue, help!!

You have already done things that I'd of done.

If I'm going to get picky....

The rad fan kicks on consistently/properly?

When you bled/burped the system, you verified it's circulating when...

Re: 1992 SI Hatch RestoMod

Nice build. I have a 92 Si (since 1996). My car is a track car only now but it was my only car for about 15 years. I got some OEM goodness for sale (if you're interested). Arm rest like new and...

Re: Idle for a second then dies

Seems weird that plugging up the entire TB helps. Makes me think a Huge vacuum leak.

Check for spark and fuel after you look at all vacuum lines.

Re: Speaker size adapter design

That's pretty much like I was thinking. Maybe even some thin strip of rubber in between the ABS and where it contacts the body to minimize rattle. Also....I like the adhesive foam for house exterior...

Re: Speaker size adapter design

I'm confused. I was thinking the support bar was already there and you were making a smaller speaker fit in the speaker location with a fabricated speaker mount.

Re: Timing belt change.

I forgot to mention the cam gears need to be in a certain orientation before you begin. I knew I was forgetting stuff.

Re: Timing belt change.

I've never done the V6 model. How many cam gears? 4? Im guessing the marking for cams may be different than what I've experienced. But I do know a few good thoughts that will aplly.

1. Make sure...

Re: Speaker size adapter design

My experience with carbon fiber tells me it isn't as easy to work with than ABS. It can work just fine though.

Re: Speaker size adapter design

If the aluminum is what you got in your garage...it can work just fine. I like using ABS black plastic for such things because it is easier to work with.

Re: 98-0290 Raped + Recovered

Sorry to hear about the theft. The curse of thieves still thrives for these Type R's.....almost 20 years later. Guys that have Type R tributes put their car at risk too. Like a banner for thieves....

Re: Obd1 b16a2 swapped from eg to ek- no power, rough idle

What harness are you using? A EK EX harness should be perfect. Maybe extend a line or two to fit the Bseries but it should be plug and play (outside of the knock sensor).

Re: Obd1 b16a2 swapped from eg to ek- no power, rough idle

Check for the service plug in between glove box and kick panel. I think yours is blue. It'll be connected to nothing. Use a paper clip to connect the two sides of the plug together. Key to on...
