i use to have the same problem in a 98 civic hatch. problem was the distributor rotor was burnt and need a tuneup... did the tuneup and she fires up like a champ... no more dieing... hope this helps ...

ive already changed the ign switch, but that would just cut out all of a sudden. it wouldnt happen when i let the engine idle.

thnx for the responses so far guys, hopefully it was just a dirty...

if i have the transmission in gear and release the gas pedal, no problem.
but if i hold the clutch in or at a stop, the engine rpms drop till it shuts off.
while driving on flat land, no problem....

i've tried replacing the alternator and the battery. worked fine for about a...

dont forget that it replaces 1qt of our oil... i used to use it in a old 89 buick, and i went a month without checking oil once. turned out i had been running it with maybe 1qt total in the engine ...

the wiring for ur key ignition might be jacked up/worn out... it used to happen to me in my 98ek.... if u jiggle the the wiring behind the key it will temporarily fix it until a bump gets it loose...
