Converting 1997 Prelude from ABS brakes to non-ABS

I'm wanting to remove the ABS pump, but I have a couple questions. There is a 4 port "proportioning valve" down by the fuel filter. Is this an actual proportioning valve or would it hurt leaving it,...

Re: Can you run an auto trans ecu on a manual car

On the P28 and other OBD1 Civic/Integra ECUs, remove RP17 and solder a wire between the contacts of RP18. A leg off a resistor, a piece of wire, a 0 ohm resistor are all common to use.

I did replace my plugs with bkr7e-11, have a chinese obd2-obd1 adapter and running Hondata on a P28 with ID1000 injectors using the plug in values for the dead times it offers.

It started running...

Re: B18C1 with turbo for daily use?

Wiseco pistons are low silicon, so they will wear a little faster and have a little piston slap on cold days possibly. A 4032 alloy piston would have been better for a dd, but lots of people daily...

Re: 98 hatch, high idle/accelerates on its own

I just had an issue with my iacv doing exactly this after my car warmed up. high idle around 2k rpm. I unplugged it and it ran normal, but had a cel. I run Hondata so i just disabled it for now.

Re: energy suspension insert help needed

Indeed, the 5th gen mount is better. It's not just Hondas but other makes also that use pillow mounts and they're just problematic.

Re: what bearings are these

If the block was never rebuilt, it should have the codes stamped on the block.

Or get a precision micrometer and mic out the crank journals and rod openings and you can calculate what bearings...

Re: Is my Block Shot ?

If you didn't punch a hole in the block, at least tear the block apart. The block could be used by someone to build another motor. I'd gladly take a block since I have a spare D16 crank just kicking...

Re: Cheap projects/customizations, under $50?

Cutting ribbing from your hood and adding struts to hold it up. $5 for the cutoff blade and about 20 for the struts. Just something different.

The same ammo can for doing the remote battery could...

Re: Cheap projects/customizations, under $50?

We're still in a recession, so I'm bumping this up because I have a couple ideas, and it's spring so people will want to start doing stuff again.

Plastic ammo cans make a perfect battery box. I...

Re: B17 oil pump question

The B17 uses a 1.6 liter (b16) block. Just get one for a B16. And I know on the B18Cs, it's cheaper getting a OBD2 oil pump, the only difference is a threaded hole and a stud on the outside....

Re: ek oem Door-Visor vs after-market

I have the aftermarket ones (were on the car when I bought it) and fitment stinks, but they keep the rain out while the window is cracked. I guess it just depends if it's worth it to you. I'll just...

Re: Who is useing the hasport cable trans kit in there eg.

The adapters are said to be mostly junk. If you could somehow swap a cable clutch pedal in, it would most likely work better. Or you could get a 4th gen...

Re: Trying To Fix Oil Consumption Need Another Opinion

Does it smoke? When? I'm going to suggest having someone ride in the back and watch as you accelerate hard, since it's probably valve stem seals if you have even compression on all cylinders.

Re: 4x4 Convertion to 2WD?

Re: OBD2B B18B1 into EK Civics??

The PR4, P75, and P06 can all be converted easily. It takes me about 20 minutes.

Or just get Hondata S300. It's generally considered the best tuning software and you can actuate vtec through other...

Re: Looking to get my 95 Del Sol Running -- Just purchased D17, What Now?

What's wrong with your D16? You can rebuild a single cam pretty cheap. It's under $500 to rebuild a motor if you do the assembly yourself. You just need a clean area and some time to check things...

Re: do i have to buy new headstuds???

What the noob said. ARP studs are fine to use over and over. And for non-boosted engines, I have heard of people reusing the OEM bolts, they just torqued them to 5lbs more.

I believe simple...

Re: Heat wrap vs. heat shields (searched)

I believe heat wrap is not recommended for a DD since it makes it rust out faster and I believe it makes it more prone to cracking.

Theoretically, keeping the header/turbo manifold hotter...

Re: Change a/t filter and oil

NEVER flush a Honda automatic trans. Honda I believe issues a TSB saying not to. If you wish to flush your trans, do a fill and drain a couple times.
