No one has any tips? I really want to fix this because there's no way I can drive around with no AC and without the ability to roll down my window in the heat.

You must have had the engine running when you checked it. You should have the car off when checking it. Also a hot engine makes it harder to read the exact point (in my experience).

My cruise control still works. Then again, I have never tried to use it while the speed sensor wasn't working. I tried it one day, when my speed sensor just happened to be working.

Hmm, my brother becomes gets certified as 608 this week and says he can take the next test right after to become certified 609. So I maybe able to get R-12 sometime soon.
