I'm running the OEM JDM 4.7 fd transmission in my R. I don't mind the high rpms at high speeds. Still get good gas mileage too!

Does your horn work? If i remember correctly, when the horn fuse blows, it causes the brake light to stay on.

I had the same issue. Root cause: spring fell off clutch and was jammed between pressure plate and clutch. Replaced clutch, problem fixed.
