yea it was my friends compression tester, he said it might not be working properly, but the teg is running great now

ok its not the fuel injector, its not the valve lash adjustment, its not a bent valve, cylinder #2 is just dead??

i think its the fuel injector because it starts running fine, but then i give it gas and it runs on 3 cylinders again, i also ran the car till gas ran out and this problem started happening

240k on the engine.........did a compression test yesterday and cylinder 2 has like 40........but i doubt its the rings because it runs good sometimes, and then reverts back to running on 3...

this problem got progressively worse , it first started as a small sputter now its to the point the car has a rough idle and sounds like a wrx

valve adjustment is good, no ticking at all..........i just checked if all 4 cylinders are getting spark and they are , i doubt its a bent valve.....

i think oil is getting into the spark plugs...

alright i will check

but it runs perfect for a couple minutes then starts misfiring and running on 3 cylinders randomly

well i just did a valve adjustment, now i am getting some sort of misfire and it is running on 3 cylinders , it will drive fine then start sputtering and running on 3 cylinders

i put in new spark...

just re-did all of the lifters with the same technique (tighten down all the way, then loosen until feeler gauge fits) and no more ticking woooooooooooo smooth as fock!!

ok so i tightened down all the adjusters screws one by one and loosened them until the feeler gauge fits now it is not ticking that much anymore

no misfire, just bogging and sputtering, i put a screwdriver and my ear to it, sounds like its coming from cylinder 4 all the way to the left but they are adjusted good

man all the valves are adjusted perfectly , feeler gauges have little drag on them , yet its still ticking loud wtff

for b18b1? might have to try that , i have been doing .004in .007ex

.003" - .005"IN AND .006" - .008"EX.
B18B1 engine: Intake—0.003-0.005 in. (0.08-0.12mm), Exhaust—0.006-0.008 in. (0.16-0.20mm)

this is driving me nuts, i know the valves are adjusted perfectly but i am still hearing a ticking noise, and i think its coming from the back of the engine or something idk

valves are adjusted...

yea its .004 and .007 for exhaust, i have 1 valve thats not adjusted right so its still ticking, gunna get a compression tester

and im sure the misfire and sputtering is from valve adjustment

i freed the locknuts by using a ratchet with a drill bit hehe but still ticking

hello i have had a ticking sound coming from the engine, and misfire at idle so i started to do a valve adjustment, but all the locknuts were seized and i could not adjust the screw, now the ticking...
