Re: Testing ECUs outside of cars?

yeah, the corrosion is on the pr4, but the P28 and P06 are in perfect condition. They all are throwing codes for the intake temp, coolant temp, eld, and the vtec pressure switch.

I can't find any...

Re: Testing ECUs outside of cars?

Naw, I meant on the board., but it still works as far as I know. The problem is that I only get these few codes when nothing else is connected.

Re: Testing ECUs outside of cars?

Yeah, I'm kinda on a budget with time and money. I'm just trying to figure out if it's normal for the ECU to act like that. I have a b16 block in the shed, its just kinda hard to make it run without...

Re: Testing ECUs outside of cars?

yeah, they're both in perfect condition. What even stranger I have an OBD1 PR4 with a crap ton of gunk and corrosion on it and it does the EXACT same thing. I'm starting to think that it's me and not...

Testing ECUs outside of cars?

Okay, maybe someone can shed some light on some problems I've been having on testing ECUs outside of cars.
I've got two 'perfectly good' ECU's that I'm trying to test, a P06 and P28. When I put +12v...

Re: OBD0 D15B7/Z6 mini me in EF

I've never heard about the distributor being 180 degrees off but that doesn't mean it's not possible. The key on the distributor is offset to prevent that. Your distributor (TD02U) should work fine....

Re: The Wrath of the Crank Bolt

Damn, dude. Don't go insane on someone just because they disagree with you. That idea will work, but why do something that is EXACTLY like hydrolocking?! I mean, using one piston right at the top of...

Re: Phantom Grip LSD install B Series transmission.

Yeah, I haven't seen a good explanation on how these things exactly work and what exactly take the beating here. My crappy guess would be that the gears that the PG are pushing outward on are...

Re: b16 running on 3 cyl n lots of white smoke

Since you said you didn't replace the gasket, my guess would be that some coolant is leaking into the #4 cylinder from the side passage. I don't have a really good pic, but you can kinda get the...

Re: Reverse switch ground wire?

Then either your switch is faulty or the green/black wire is shorted to 12v somewhere. Try pulling out the no. 1 fuse. If the lights shut off, then your switch is most likely bad or the yel and...

Re: Reverse switch ground wire?

If your thermostat ground is messed up, then your car is going NOWHERE :p

The switch on the transmission has a yellow and green/black wire on it. The yellow is the 12v feed and goes to the fuse...

Re: would a bent valve do this?

As for the tranny and weird noises, idk what they did, but that won't cause electrical problems like this.
I don't see how changing the clutch and water pump would cause all these codes unless stuff...

Re: would a bent valve do this?

Yeah, code 4(crank pos. sensor)- 99% sure that would throw the ecu into limp mode. IAT, IACV, vtec pressure switch, vtec solenoid, and o2 heater. If it was giving you all of these before the pump and...

Re: New owner having problems, no spark

Check the main relay; that little bastard provides power to the ecu, fuel pump, injectors and etc. If it goes out, you won't have spark or fuel.

Re: need help starting my 91 dx hatch

Plus, if you're using your original PM5 ecu, it's not going to work. You need to be using a PM6 or preferably a PM7 ecu. You're also gonna need the right distributor. The one from the old setup will...
