Re: 92 Honda Accord DX THE NIGHTMARE

Have you performed compression and leak down tests on the engine?

If the engine is healthy this sounds like it could be a TPS vs MAP issue. Check to make sure you have the proper 3 wire connector...

Re: basic upgrades to a f22b2

What F22 are you asking about, F22A, F22B or F22C?

If you are referring to the F22A1/6 engine, the stock F22A6 with IAB (dual runner) set up would be the best bang for your buck.

If you are...

Re: Ignition module? Common problem?

Another thing to look at while you have the distributor apart to change out the igniter (ICM) is the condition of all the wires and connectors in there. Over the years the wire can dry and start to...

Re: Ignition module? Common problem?

It is more common to have the ignition main relay to have intermittent heat related issues than the igniter (ICM) inside the distributor. I am not saying that it's not the igniter (ICM) just that it...

Re: Lost and don’t know if this is the right place to ask this question

Have you ever had the transmission fluid changed in the 3 years that you have owned it?

That's where I would start.

Re: 97 accord fuel filter

Are you asking about washable fuel filters or air filters?

Unless you are running your car on gas out of a Jerry can or dirty container, you really shouldn't have to replace the fuel filter all...

Re: 1995 Accord Ex wagon running rich

OK, so the question is, why do you say your car is running rich? Is the +10% STFT causing your exhaust to smell of unburnt fuel?

Are you having poor mileage or engine performance issues?

Re: 1995 Accord Ex wagon running rich

According to the STFT, the engine seems to be running lean and the ECU is adding 10% more fuel.

Reasons for ECU to demand more fuel;
Dirty/fouled O2 sensor
Leak in the exhaust before the O2...

Re: F22a block and f22b2 head

Actually all you need to do is put the Non VTEC oil control orifice back in the block. That port is the oil feed to the head for VTEC heads. It is the hole that you have circled in green on the...

Re: Cleaning IACV, FITV and TB (Grandhustleman86)

Usually, this instruction would imply that you reconnect your battery after the couple minutes has passed.

Re: Dirt oval mod questions

Yeah that is your best bet. I have never really found there to be any real bonus to advancing or retarding the TPS on a cable driven throttle and stock ECU. No harm in trying it out yourself though....

Re: 98 Accord Immobilizer Issue

Does your key have a battery that can be replaced or is it just a chip? I know when my Ridgeline was doing this it was the battery in the key that was weak.

Re: 96 Honda Accord

How much did you remove from the head, did you clay the engine to verify proper piston to valve clearance?

Well, 40 rpm definitely comes before 6000 ;)

What did it miss out on?

Timing,...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2022 season thread

I didn't think the drivers/team were to have access to the stewards this season.

Ether way, the side wing/canard of his front wing was visibly damaged and hanging off. All it would have taken was...

Re: Problems after valve adjustment

That is the coolant hose for the Fast Idle Thermal Valve / Rotary Air Control Valve. Not sure if it is the supply or return.

Re: Problems after valve adjustment

The 1000 rpm issue sounds as though you may have a vacuum leak, disconnected or cracked hose?

Coolant drip would be from moving stuff around in the engine bay, may have pushed something and caused...

Re: Short ram vs. Cold air intake

Using the usual mount behind the battery with a simple heat shield nets some good results. The only time you are really sucking in hot air is when you are at idle/stop sign for an extended period of...

Re: using a F23A5 engine where a F23A4 engine was

Yes it can be removed. It's a brass plug with a rubber o-ring, if you look closely at the picture I posted you can see that it has a threaded hole in the top to insert a screw to allow you to pull it...

Re: using a F23A5 engine where a F23A4 engine was

Check for oil pressure at the VTEC pressure switch/cylinder head. The F22B2 and F23A4 Non VTEC SOHC blocks have an oil control orifice (plug) between the block and the cylinder head. This port...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2022 season thread

Sounds like a nice historical trip. This go around we are focusing on WWI, Ypres, Paschendale, Vimmy and the Somme. We may try and take a day trip to Courseulles-sur-Mer/Juno Beach.

Enjoy your...

Re: The Official Formula 1 2022 season thread

That's sweet! My wife and I are planning a trip to Belgium next year around the same time as the race. Hoping to score some tickets.

Enjoy the race, post lots of pictures ;)
