Re: Disappearing Oil

I have always used a 10W-40, at times a 10W-30 when I could not find my normal brand weight, I also try to add a quart of Lucas most of the time. Not real clear on the oil weights, 5W-20 or 30 be...

Re: Disappearing Oil

It's burning the oil.

Burning 1 quart in a 2000-mile interval is essentially nothing. You're not going to see evidence of burning such small amounts of oil. Think of how many combustion cycles...

Icon2 Timing Belt Replace 01 Accord 4 cyl

I had a 1993 Accord that I hesitated to replace the timing belt myself as there was mention of several "Special" tools required, I have no idea if that was correct or not, so I paid to have it done....

Re: (ziggy!talon)

I have always been told CV Joints will make a clicking of knocking noise when either: turning or going from drive to reverse, similar to what a drive line does when the U-Joints are shot.

Re: Knocking noise in front end (lunarone)

No spring problem, It is a definite solid knock, I suspect swaybar or something like that, It sounds as if someone has a hard rubber mallet and hitting against the bottom of the chassis.

Re: Major Squeak in Left Front 01 Accord (jhelmick1)

You were right on with the ball joints, since the noise disappears when the front end is jacked up, I put it on ramps and searched high and low with a probe, when I hit the lower ball joint my ears...
