Major Squeak in Left Front 01 Accord
Replaced struts and lower ball joints less than a year ago due to a knocking noise while slowly going over bumps, did not solve the problem. Just recently since it has gotten cold, I have a major squeak from my left front suspension. It is very annoying, raised front end, removed tire, lowered back the hub onto a block of wood with out the tire to apply weight, and squeak is gone, reinstalled tire..squeak still gone. After a day or 2 of driving the squeak is back. It will not do it while making a slow turn, only when going straight, when squeak is present and I park it will make the noise very loudly while moving the steering wheel back and forth slightly, or will do it when I move the front end up and down slightly. The less is I move it the louder it is. HELP PLEASE

were the ball joints lubed before the install. if they were packed with grease before the install, then the boot should have protected the grease. if you take them out and pack them again, the noise will go away.

You were right on with the ball joints, since the noise disappears when the front end is jacked up, I put it on ramps and searched high and low with a probe, when I hit the lower ball joint my ears drums burst!, I will need to replace the lower joint as I used a grease gun with a needle to penetrate the boot to lubricate. Thanks again!
