I did a compression test and the results are:

Cylinder 1: 150
Cylinder 2: 150
Cylinder 3: 155
Cylinder 4: 160

Can I rent a compression gauge from autozone? As I don't have one, which is why I haven't done that already. The engine has 195000 miles on it and its all original as far as I know. It did smell...

I have kind of a general question.

My car (94 civic) seems to keep killing its batteries. After the car sits for about 1.5 - 2 weeks a new battery would be dead. I don't think its the alternator...

I don't think so.

the only hondas i've seen that have the same axles, had an intermediate shaft between the trans and driver side axle. You could maybe do it with some custom work.

I would check your fuel supply if you feel like the car can't go anywhere after ~20mph. To me it either sounds like too much or not enough.

UPDATE!!

Its not the bushings. Something inside the transmission itself is messed up. I have no idea what it is. I trouble shot today and here are my results:

1) Transmission would not go...

I've only had the trans off once about 4 years ago. It wasn't clutch related so i didn't really pay any attention to that. Is it easy to tell if the clutch is bad just by looking at it as i thought...

How long was the head sitting that you put on?

Could just be the valves working without proper lubrication because they were sitting for a long period of time.

make sure there isn't a short somewhere.

Someone i know had a similar problem and what it turned out to be was he replace the turn signal bulbs with a 1 terminal bulb instead of a 2 terminal bulb....

i'm not a tranny expert, but it kinda sounds like your syncros are shot. Those transmissions are pretty common in junkyards in the midwest but idk about cali.

i changed my shifter bushings and my transmission fluid. Everything seems to work a lot better but still occasionally has trouble getting in reverse.
