Re: Fuel/Oil Contamination Question (2018 CR-V Related)

Old post but I'll add that a high fuel dilution reading is not always indicative of a problem. We're tracking this fairly close in other communities and are not seeing an increase in wear metals or...

Re: 10th Gen Civic Si / Type R rumor mill

Since there's been little progress in the rumor dept, I'll stake my predictions here as well.

Si
- Sedan and Coupe only
- Mid range K20C, 230-260 HP. Revised valvetrain for better balance of...

Re: 2016 Accord :-)

Bumper is a nice refresh; grill not so much. As long as they continue making the 6MT sedan I'll remain interested. The base 4 is still a tank and easy to work on.

I think most of us looking for...

Re: Koni yellow/gc too extreme for daily? other setups have extended top hats?

Your civic hatch has just under 3" of suspension travel at stock height. Your drop puts you on the bump stops. Period.

Your current setup's harshness has less to do with springs/damping and more...

Not going to comment either way. But before dealing with any company, Google "Company X + Customer Service."

Re: suspension logic : stiffness + dampening

Technically, almost any weighted spring can be matched against a damper with adjustable rebound, since the spring itself does a majority of the work during compression. I believe the rebound limit...

Re: brake pads for street & track

Comparable to HP+. Good for track, a little noisy for street.

Re: brake pads for street & track

Good initial bite at the expense of noise. Hawk HPS or EBC Yellow is a more streetable pad, IMHO.

EDIT: The assessment from TireRack is in line with my own observations. Though I feel Performance...

Re: No, you DO NOT need camber kits!!!!!!!!

I probably should have clarified my post with emphasis on rear correction. As we know the real issue is that a simple drop restricts the range of motion of the factory arc. In most cases, wheel...

Re: No, you DO NOT need camber kits!!!!!!!!

There's a saw-tooth wear pattern on the inner 30% of your tire. I suggest a little less Toe in the rear if you can.

Re: No, you DO NOT need camber kits!!!!!!!!

That probably needs a small clarification in that camber will influence the effects of wear from rolling friction. But it's negligible when compared to the effects of a gross toe misalignment....

Re: Camber Kit skunk2 for my ek hatch

Camber kit will solve 10-20% of the issue. The rest is dialing out the toe misalignment. Alignment ASAP.

Re: Need help with car rotation - ITR

There is a lot of good advice in this thread. I also agree that an adjustable rear bar/camber should be the next step. After that, if you're still looking to transfer weight to the rear, I'd...

Re: coil overs vs springs

Technically it's the other way around. They "feel" stiff because they're slamming on the bump stops lol. An increase in damping will allow the shock to do its job - absorb/deflect forces from the...

Re: coil overs vs springs

Long story short, compression damping is insufficient for your ride height and spring rate. Softer springs will only make things worse. GL.

Re: Lowering Springs vs Coilovers help.

LOL are you new to acronyms or just prefer using Scottish terms? :P

Give the newbs a pass on their first post or two. Then flame the hell out of those that don't "get it." ;)

Re: coil overs vs springs

Spring rate is half the issue. The other half is damping. Match your skunk2 to a damper like Bilstein and you might be surprised how much the issue is minimized. My guess is you're running OEM...

Re: Shock Dyno --- Professionals chime in with opinion

Other way around. ;)

Compression (+) Rebound (-)

I agree they look pretty good. But if I'm reading the stats right, it looks like the front is valved for a stiffer spring compared to the rear?...

Re: Excessive wear on inside of tires

What are your current alignment stats? If you can't answer that, refer to post #2. But read through this thread first:

Re: No, you DO NOT need camber kits!!!!!!!!

Most enthusiasts prefer more neutral rear camber (relative to the front) for better rotation/driving feel. That's going to be true of any platform with front weight bias.

Re: No, you DO NOT need camber kits!!!!!!!!

He's right to a point but it will only amount to a 1-2 mm difference over the course of the tire's lifespan. As I've been saying throughout this thread, a more aggressive camber angle can magnify a...

Re: Lowering springs or coilovers?

Gagnar summed things up nicely.

In my experience, first time suspension users are happier with component systems over coilovers. They offer more flexibility with interchangeable parts as the...

Re: Del Sol coilover suspension. Please Help!

Have you tried talking to the manufacturer to see if they offer stiffer springs for your setup? In addition to Tunernoob's concerns, those springs appear to be tapered. Definitely not ideal...
