You use 308 filler for 304 parent material.

To go around those o2 bungs in one pass is a bear for sure. I just started out welding quarters and gradually pushed myself to doing them in halves then I got all the way around in...

It's solid wire with tri-mix I assure you. I don't have an pics of dual shield.

Welding thin tubing with a 98/2 mix is silly. It always comes out like ass. I don't know why so many people recommend that gas for SC on thin stuff. It's primarily a spray transfer gas. Tri-mix is...

Those things are way over kill for manifolds and the like. I also hate the pyrex cups. They break way to easily.I would just stick with your standard stuff. It's not like you're welding titanium.

I would recommend using a mig welder for that project. Tig will take forever and cause more distortion. Use ER70-6 for either process. It handles dirty material slightly better than -2

The consequence of too little gas flow is poor gas coverage resulting in porosity in the weld.

The consequence of too much gas flow is about the same due to the high turbulence of the gas...
