This might be the most stereotypical noob welder thread of all time.

OP says/does dumb ****

OGs lay into noob

OGs start nit picking each other.

Misinformation is thrown about all will nilly.

Thread never ends.

How original.

what i mean is, a harbor freight welder that someone buys and plugs into a sub box in their garage and there house has a 100amp service. anyone who works with metal would know that no welder like that is solid to weld a motor mount into a car.

Yes, but even those that now know had to learn. Nobody knows when they start. A small 110v MIG like the one in this thread draws ~1200w which is about the same as a toaster and less than a hair blow dryer. Not really a problem on a 100a main panel under anything close to sane load conditions elsewhere in the house.

Can it be done? Motor mounts with a HF flux core welder. Sure could. Challenge for first time welder? You bet - I think he gets it by now.

I started rebuilding engines on mini-bikes 45 years ago. As an 11 year old kid, didn't have much money for new parts. Not bragging here but, if hard pressed I would guess a creative thinker could get a hack saw, some 16ga sheet steel, a ball peen hammer, drill, and a pop riveter and get the job done. So, giving the OP benefit of the doubt, with a wire feed welder is not a big thang.

I guarantee I could do it (and many others ) with the HF flux core welder the OP has. I bet with a little will power and practice the OP will figure it out too.

When I weld mig (gasless) I tend to look above the Light or arc to see where the puddle is going. Just today I had to weld up one of the holes I drilled when drilling out my pass motor mount and with my Lincoln 125hd I had the speed nearly at zero with the temp on A and still had to tack wait, tack wait or else I was burning through. Its been about a yr since Ive welded at all and at first my welds looked like yours (no offense) but then I remembered when the wire coming out starts pushing the torch back either the speed is too high or the heat isnt hot enough. A buddy of mine who's been welding since he was 11, now 26 once told me that one of the traits of a good weld is when it sounds like bacon frying in a pan. If you can get it to sizzle, now your cooking! Lol..... In all seriousness people will hate and get into pissing matches, hell theyll probably say something about my post but it is what it is I claim to be NO PRO! I was never certified in anything (Welded stick and mig) building prisions and NOT ONE PIECE has come down..

Sorry to rant OP, practice, patients, time, and researching will get you where you want to be! Good luck, hey atlleast your not out there selling drugs..... Right?
