I would go to Autozone or Advance Auto and buy a pump. They have lifetime guarantee. I just had a water pump go on a CHevy Nova. I had 238,000 on th eOEM pump before it seized up.

Could be a thermostat, but also consider a block somewhere else like the radiator. ALso maybe something wrong withthe water pump. Check your temp. sensor too, just to make sure.
