I reset my ECU after changing the cap, rotor and wires, and it ran great for a few miles, and then I notice that it is slowly going back to its bad state.

Ok,

I must maybe rephrase my question. Other than the reduction in weight, could there be some factor which might make it drive better with less fuel in the tank?

Like maybe, pressure buildup...

Thanks, that is right! But the problem remains. Sometimes, the car drives well even on a 3/4th full tank...

My fuel tank looks like new, there was not a speck of dust in it, (until I actually opened up the fuel pump, and a couple of flakes of dust fell in.), but the problem has been there before the open...

No pressure in fuel lines

Hi,

I was checking my fuel system and fould that when I bled the fuel lines, there was practically no pressure to be relieved.. Also, the return line to the fuel pump had no fuel coming in to it....

Those iridium plugs seem to be a culprit, try the usual ngk v power plugs, they perform really well and are a great buy for the price.

Can the MAP sensor go bad because of a valve adjustment?? I am suspicious that the valves are leaking, but can the map sensor go bad because of bad intake valves??

Be very careful when doing the valve adjustment, never ever set them too tight, you will be worse off than what you started with and spend a thousand bucks to fix. Valve clearances set too tight can...
