Engine runs well with preset maps, training messes it up
Hi,
This stumps me.
I reset my ECU after changing the cap, rotor and wires, and it ran great for a few miles, and then I notice that it is slowly going back to its bad state.
Basically, the car drives great (I can squeal my tires) on its preset or base maps.
but when it tries to retrain itself to an even better state as I put on miles, say by around 50 miles, it is screwing up (no acceleration, feels totally dead even if I floor gas, forget squealing rubber!).
What might be wrong?
Clogged EGR?
Bad 02 sensor?
Faulty TPS?
Leaky injectors?
Any more ideas? Car is a 99 EX Coupe 4 cyl manual tranny.
