Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

I said valves because I imagined that the valves, keepers, springs, and retainers were all spinning as one unit. Is that not true?

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

Well yeah I agree with that much, I was imagining a full throttle situation for simplicity's sake, however excess air taken in through a crack in a runner is still accounted for by the map sensor to...

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

I'm not saying that the engine will run fine with a leak like that, of course it won't. But if the cylinder can pull air in from a leak it is going to cause a drop in vacuum in the plenum.

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

So load is completely tps and rpm determined?

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

Firstly, I think you guys are behaving like childs.

Secondly, if you want to be super nit-picky and all about this manifold gasket leak I think you're going about it the wrong way. A vac leak...

Can you not set it up to try and correct to the A/F ratios you tuned for?

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

Interesting. I know you do. I'm not saying that you're definitely going to have problems, all I'm saying is it makes no sense to me why you'd remove the only way of really ensuring that things are...

Since it sounds like you're gonna be doing some real deal racing...most likely with people that have last names but can't pronounce them, I'll go ahead and recommend the best of the best. Harry can...

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

Well, I never said it would, technically. The main point I'm trying to make is why remove the feedback?

It's great that you can tune for most predictable engine conditions using the input data,...

Re: Manual Transmission whine?

Still incorrect. With the clutch pedal released whether you're in gear or not, the input shaft will be spinning at engine rpm. Thus, a bad input shaft bearing would still make noise in neutral. Go...

Re: Do you HAVE to run an O2 sensor?!?

There's nothing ignorant about taking advantage of the features offered by a modern pgm-fi system. Good maps are of course essential to a good tune, and can keep things close to normal under a...

Re: Difference in MT and AT engine harnesses...

bingo. you'll need to use a del sol harness and modify it to fit the h series you're stuffing in there. you definitely should have done this before putting the engine in btw.

Whether its AT or MT...

Who took the jammer out of your donut?

Trolling should at least involve some useful info.

As for the topic of the thread, running without an o2 sensor is retarded. Your car would run like crap...

Re: Manual Transmission whine?

A whine matched to the car's speed is most likely differential bearings, but could be a countershaft bearing. The diff and the countershaft are the only parts of the trans that move at the same rpm...

Re: DTC p0441 & P0170 -- already searched

Just an update, we just played with the tps more. That diagnostic sw reads the tps % just as voltage on a 5v scale. AKA the 10% throttle reading we were getting was simply indicating that the tps was...
