Re: off the shelf cam selection

Advertised duration and lift are only part of the equation. Overlap is another factor as well as ramp angles. The bigger picture really is how and when valve events are occurring. Two intake cames...

Re: Hi Def How To: Valve Lash Adjustment on Honda Engine - GSR B18C1

Great vid, great quality too. One thing of note would be if you could mention (probably in footnotes now) why valve clearance is different between intake and exhaust sides. Additionally, it would be...

Re: electeical issue lexus gs

I know on mid 2000's to about 2010/11 the HFL (hands free link) units i.e. bluetooth units caused a parasitic draw if they failed in hondas/acuras. Worth a shot since a third party designed the HFL...

Re: Quick timing question

Well if you can picture how an engine runs, and you know the timing belt spins counter clockwise. So if you rotate the cam gears clockwise, the valves will be opening sooner i.e. "advanced".
So, in...

re: Troubleshooting: 1999 GS-R multiple idle, consistency issues.

Valve lash being out of spec can cause all of your codes as well.

Re: any engine components that should not be put in a parts washer?

Only thing id be wary of is anything with a mating surface. I.e head, cam caps, camshafts, rods, rod cams, etc. Aluminum scratches very easily.

Re: D16z6 vitara pistons eagle rods noise when revved?

Re: B series

Do a compression test. Also check to make sure head gasket wasnt installed upside down by seeing if you have an oil leak at the gasket on the back of the head on the passenger side.

Re: HELP!! Stumped! Hesitation issue when accelerating.

Not necessarilly. Ignitition timing changes with coolant temp. And there is a relationship between cam timing and ignition timing. Cam timing doesnt change. Ignition timing does....based off of...

Re: HELP!! Stumped! Hesitation issue when accelerating.

Can you pull the spark plugs and post pictures of them?
Youve also checked cam timing?
Have you checked ignition timing with a timing light?

Re: Stock GSR cam advice

Id advise against any camshaft upgrade untile valvetrain is upgraded. If you go this route, and the head is to be removed, you can go with a thinner HG, and mill the head .010. Maybe even go with...

Re: B20v dyno torque curve

You can see the low cam runs out of breath at 3600-3700. Now set your vtec to 3600-3700. Tune to desired afrs and overlay the graphs. Voila! Youll know optimal vtec engagement.

Re: B20v dyno torque curve

Wow....im surprised it tokk so long for someone to notice this....I second this assessment. The graph clearly shows vtec engagement is way too late. Ideally, you want to set vtec where it has the...

Re: slight stroked poor mans or h2b h23 blue top

Were the cams degreed? Was valve lash set to manufacturers spec? And no where do you mention fuel mods. Injector size? Using a FPR?

Re: D16Y8 Built Head - Metallic Noise around 3.5k RPM, normal any other RPM

It's rattling at your motors resonance point. To me it sounds like a loose bolt/washer somewhere. Maybe in the exhaust.

Re: 02 Accord cutting out and wont rev past 4k!!

Is the system too lean code the only one showing up? I ask because p0171/172 is usually the code present subsequent to a larger problem and is not normally the only code present.
