Tranny compatibility.

I can use a 1990 B18 tranny for my 94 GSR right? Can I also use all the clutch components from my GSR or do I need some from the 90?
TIA.

Re: How many boosted miles do you have? (1990hondaHF)

Well I know I don't have the most but:
230,000km on motor total.
80,000km has been turbo.
B18C1 only boosting 5psi for now.

Re: Normal clutch noises? (GSRrR)

What I'm saying is that it is from the material on your clutch being wore out not because of the flywheel. The Action clutch I have now doesn't make any noise and neither did my other clutch until...

Re: Normal clutch noises? (GSRrR)

I second the rivet thing. Mine started doing that so I put an Action stage 2KS in. It was the rivets scraping on the flywheel. My flywheel had a huge gouge in it and it was unusable....

Re: need advice from the boosting veterans, PLEASE!!!! (autoEXturbo)

Ya see this guy wants to boost mid teens so that's why I said that.

AdReneline- Get some pistons/rods and the block sleeved if you can afford it. I would go with Hondata or Zdyne depending on...

Re: need advice from the boosting veterans, PLEASE!!!! (autoEXturbo)

FMU($100)+VAFC($325)+missing link($50). Almost $500 plus you still need something for timing don't you? It still needs to be dyno tuned also. I don't see what's so cheap about that compared to a...

Re: what kind of number SHOULD I be making? (Aeka GSR)

Didn't you get an air/fuel printout when you had the Hondata tuned?
Anyway, the pipes will be a restriction for sure. 9 psi of air is probably less air than 7 psi with bigger piping. The FMI...

Re: Throttle position sensor....adjusting (deacs)

Ya I know. Those nazi bastards. Funny because Hondas are generally pretty home mechanic friendly, then they go and do something like that. http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emhammer.gif ...

Re: Post ur *Average* dyno #'s. (falconGSR)

So are you saying that rpm has nothing to do with it?
My torque curve is pretty flat from 5000-8000rpm at 160lbs. Are you saying an exact same Civic with a motor that makes 160lbs from...

Re: Post ur *Average* dyno #'s. (DIRep972)

I'm not sure about who is right on the subject of the two cars being equal or the one with higher horse power winning. IMO it really doesn't matter. Those curves are very extreme (impossible...

Re: fpr gauge q (lsteggy)

The jump of 9psi sounds about right, but your base pressure seems low. Should be more like 35psi/44psi.

Re: Canadian daytime running lights (Understeer)

They are a good idea, but in some ways they're not. The problem is people don't turn on their lights anymore when it is foggy or other low visibility situations. It really pisses me off because the...

Re: Post ur *Average* dyno #'s. (shadowdawn)

No that is normal. HP is dependant on torque and rpm. If your torque curve was flat at those rpm intervals your hp would rise as rpms increased.
Here's my shit.

Re: Stroker Question (sleepercivic)

If you want you could go to ClubSI and talk to DBallz. He is running a B16 stroked to 2L with 15psi from a 20G turbo.
As for the injectors: It depends on the power more than boost level, but you...

Re: Can't get over stock boost.. (Dramier)

Try a different boost controller, or do a quick blast with the line open. (I mean quick.) Is it taking longer to hit 7 psi than it did before?

Re: Biggest injectors on stock ECU? (01ITR#700)

If you add an AFC you can idle 450cc injectors no problem. I have heard of people idling 550cc injectors using very low static fuel pressure. I don't think that is a good idea though. Stock R...

Re: Just got back from meeting art(artTurbo) Chris(direp972) and John(VaporTrail) at the dyno (b18bt

Now thats impressive. Can you explain how that setup works Jinx? Normally if you run 440cc and an AFC you are trimming 40% to run right. How can that run right with a 12:1 FMU? (I think thats what...

Re: 10psi.....Need injectors or not? (BoostedD15B7)

Don't worry about the duty cycle. It will still be at whatever it was from the factory. If I were you I would get a set of 450cc injectors and do the hack. If you run 10psi your fuel pressure is...

Re: a quick tune up turns up some potential problems... ? help please. (SJR)

You should try your local auto store and see if you can borrow a tester. I guess Autozone or Pep boys. Canadian Tire up here lets you borrow them. Unfortunately, some of them don't fit into the...

Re: diesel fuel by accident (CiRcUiTsi)

Re: a quick tune up turns up some potential problems... ? help please. (TimoneX)

Have you had to take it out yet? I will assure you that you will have issues then.

Have you tried tightening the screw with a rachet and a no2 phillips head? If you do that and still have...
